Geography and climate

Cambodia is a country located in Southeast Asia, bordered by Thailand to the west, Vietnam to the east and Laos to the north. The country has a total area of ​​181,035 km², making it the 90th largest country in the world.

Cambodia’s landscape is characterized by fertile plains, forested mountains and meandering rivers. The Mekong, the largest river in Southeast Asia, crosses the country from north to south, offering spectacular views and opportunities for cruising. The mountains in the east of the country, including the Elephant Mountains, reach heights of over 1,800 meters.

Cambodia’s climate is tropical, with a rainy season from May to November and a dry season from December to April. Temperatures vary depending on the season, with average temperatures between 21°C and 35°C. The hottest months are April and May, while the coolest months are December and January.

The country is also prone to extreme weather events, such as floods and typhoons, especially during the rainy season. However, despite these risks, Cambodia is a popular destination for travelers due to its natural beauty, rich culture and history.
